Tina Ann Byers: It is so important to know Dog CPR. Within the last year, my 19 year old Yorkie, Paras, had 3 cardiac episodes and Dog CPR brought her back each time. Paras continues to enjoy an excellent quality of life -- and it just would not have happened if I did not know Dog CPR.Tina Ann ByersProud Yorkie Mommie of Tashia (5), Paras (19), Arnold (13 - Special Needs) and Baby Gabby (11 months - Special Needs)

Combing & Brushing to keep pets cool in the summer vs. clipping them too short. Lots of dog owners ask their groomers to clip their pets shorter in the summertime. For most breeds this is an acceptable way to keep cool. There are however some breeds that can become sick or suffer from heat stroke when the pet is clipped too short. The longer hair on some breeds actually helps to keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Please ask your groomer about this before you decide on a summer cut for your pet.

All breeds need to be brushed out to keep them cool and comfortable in the heat. Dogs with mats & knots in the fur have a very hard time staying cool. The mats stay damp and can cause sores and are very hard for a pet to sleep on. If you cannot manage to keep your pets brushed out, please call your groomer and they can help you out. Please consider this service if you just don’t have the time to keep your pet brushed out.

GROOMER HAS IT- This is the Animal Planet reality show for dog groomers. Romeo’s owners’ salon’s groomer Chris is trying to be on next season’s show. She has just gotten her application filled out and sent in, along with her video about work at Posh Paws. We will keep you all posted on her progress. She certainly has the skills it takes to make it on the show and come out a winner.
